How long have you been in business?
We have been helping the community since the mid 60s as Roseville Area Youth Services (RAYS) and incorporated Sierra Family Services, Inc. in 1970. In 2012, we changed our name to Sierra Mental Wellness group (SMWG).
What is your primary product or service?
SMWG offers professional affordable counseling services for individuals, couples, children, adolescents and families.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We provide a large array of services both in our offices and in the community. The minimum educational requirements for our clinical staff is a Masters degree. Our crises response teams cover, Placer, Nevada and Colusa Counties giving us the ability to serve people in the region rather than a single town, area or county.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Our clinical offices are in Roseville, Auburn and Tahoe City. We also provide services in Lincoln.

Our clinical services are offered from Roseville to Tahoe. Our crises response services are provided in Placer, Nevada and Colusa Counties.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
We are a private not for profit 501 (C)(3) organization. The Board of Directors guide the mission and big picture while the day to day business is handled by a small administrative, wonderful support staff and awesome clinicians.
What are your hours of operation?
Our business hours are from 8am to 5pm however we typically have groups and services going until 8pm and in some cases 9pm.
